With Albums, The Fans Aren’t Cheated Like It Is With Single. – Chozen Blood.

Originally Patrick Musasizi, singer Chozen Blood released an eleven-truck album dubbed, ‘I am Chozen’ in January built up by a compilation of different songs recorded since COVID-19 was declared present in Uganda.

In an interview with 97.7 Record FM on the Star Factory with DJ Nick, Chozen said that when the Lockdown was put, it gave him ample time that he mostly spent whilst in music studios working on this album.

“When situations change and what you have been used to no longer exists, you try other things. That’s why when COVID-19 broke up I got so much time on me to be in the studio. I gave myself time because even though shows closed down, studios never. I compiled a whole album dubbed, ‘I am Chozen’ which I started on immediately after the quarantine was put up last year around March,” he revealed.

The ‘Awunza’ singer further noted that he was hopeful that they would set musicians but as time went by, he realised it was not working out that way. Around July, he released the ‘Sharpshooter’ video online as the first song off his album and that’s how I have survived.

Asked on why he decided to release an album not singles, Chozen said that it is because that is the only way to go.

“That’s the only way to go for it is what is being done worldwide. Just for us we had somewhat remained behind. It energizes me that just after I had released this album, some people were discouraging. I am happy to see that Eddy Kenzo has released his ‘Made in Africa’ album, Ykee Benda is advertising his, Fik Fameica is working on one ― it is basically good. We have to be organised and good music has to be in circulation,” he explained.

Chozen said that the good in releasing albums is that fans are not cheated like they would be if only singles were being released. Fans have enough of an artist. He further mentioned that besides that, they also bring some good money. He called upon music lovers to emulate it.

“We urge our fans to continually get to know it. It might be new and so many of our fans perhaps don’t understand it yet, but it’s the right way to go,” he said.
