Uganda to sell her tourism attractions in the upcoming Miss World competitions.

As over 100 countries globally plan to participate in the Miss World Beauty Pageant, Uganda has schemed a Multiplan that will not only stop at their participation but also sell the country’s tourist attractions.
The 70th edition of the Miss World Beauty Pageant under the theme “Beauty with Purpose” is slated to go down on December 16, 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan Puerto Rico ― the host country.
The State Minister for Tourism, Martin Mugarra Bahinduka noted that this time round Uganda is not only aiming at making sure the current Miss Uganda holder wins, but also sells the country as a tourism destination.
“We are privileged that the former Miss Uganda did so well, Quiin Abenakyo did so brilliantly that we got to host the Miss World team here. Now we want to make sure the world notices we not only have beautiful and intelligent girls, but we also have the best when it comes to tourism attractions,” said Bahinduka.
Uganda will be ably represented by the reigning queen, Elizabeth Bagaya, a 26 year old holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and a make-up artist by profession. She has been named among the top contenders for Miss World Africa by the bookmakers.
Against this reasoning, the country has since urged the beauty queen by giving her a grand send-off to Puerto Rico with a send-off trip organized by Breathtaking Uganda, together with Kezzi Entertainment, the Miss World Uganda franchise owners.
“We are grateful to Breathtaking Uganda and Miss Uganda for organizing the send-off party not only to boost the young girl’s confidence, but also to make sure we use the opportunity to market Uganda,” Bahinduka added.
“I am very excited to know that I am starting my journey for the Miss World with a send-off to go Puerto Rico to showcase how beautiful my country is and to confidently bring the crown back home backed by the support I have been given,” Bagaya said.
The Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanya views the Miss World platform as a huge opportunity to lure the rest of the world to Uganda thus urging Bagaya to be the best she can be for the nation is behind her.
The send-off began with a beautiful independence 4-day getaway trip to Lake Mburo, Igongo and Gahiza Island in the western side of Uganda by Bagaya together with the Tourism Minister, Bahinduka.
From November 5th to 7th, Bagaya, who hails from Fort Portal Tourism City will be at her home city of Fort Portal to be given a befitting homecoming (sendoff) by the natives at the resplendent Nyaika Hotel.
The trip to Fort Portal will be climaxed with a gathering of well-wishers and sponsors to celebrate Miss Uganda’s journey and to send her off. It will also be a night of Ugandan fashion, beauty and business communities gathering to dine with her and show her their support.
The team will also visit several Kabarole Crater Lakes, Sempaya Hot Springs where they will boil eggs, visit Mabere ga Nyinamwiru, Kyeganywa Hilltop and finalize with a visit to Karuzika Palace.
All these moments will be captured in photos and videos which will be put together and will be shown at the global stage (Miss World 2021) as revealed by the CEO Breathtaking Uganda, Isaiah Jobs Rwanyekiro. Through this, the country is positive that her tourist attractions will be sold to the world.
