Today we crush on renowned media personality, Flavia Tumusiime, ‘A heroine to many’ because of her life story, progression and how she has managed to remain relevant against all odds.
Flavia Tumusiime has not only built her name on media grounds but also as an actress, voice-over artist, emcee and author of 30 Days of Flavia.
Starting out as a presenter of a teen’s show on WBS TV in 2006, Tumusiime set to walk a journalistic journey henceforth which has been defined by hard work, and success above all.
Her TV presentation background keyed her into the doors of radio. She worked on HOT100 FM shortly before she settled at Capital FM, where she has been up to now.
While on radio, Tumusiime never completely bid adieu to Television. She presented another program dubbed K-files on WBS TV for roughly two years from 2010.
She played numerous roles outside radio like; presenting the Guinness football challenge which was airing on NTV (Uganda) and ITV & KTN (Kenya), was a VJ on Channel O and a presenter for Big Brother Africa in 2012.
Flavia joined NTV Uganda as a news anchor on NTV Tonight in 2016 and doubled as a co-host of Morning @ NTV, a morning show which she started early 2018. She however signed out of NTV over three months ago.
Outside Radio and TV boundaries, Tumusiime also built a stance in the Film industry as an actress. In this line, she played a lead role in Nana Kagga’s ‘Beneath the lies’ as Kamali Tenywa and acted as Juliana Kanyomozi’s niece in a movie dubbed ‘Kiwani’.
In one of the media interviews, Tumusiime said that she would find it interesting to grow up with the ‘Kamali’ character.
Kamali was a young woman set into a certain world that she didn’t choose but had to do all to survive and had to fight different wars, emotions, society and relationships to get through. In my opinion, she has grown into this character.
She was a judge at the Tusker Project Fame Auditions in 2013, featured as one of the Ugandan celebrities in the Tusker Twende Kazi as well as hosting celebrities on her web series.
An innovative woman she is and with a media background, Tumusiime started out a Vlog, which she runs on YouTube. This entails inspirational, motivational, social and financial literacy content.
Branded as one of the outstanding motivational speakers in the Pear of Africa, Tumusiime has featured on various platforms especially in learning institutions to share her life story which is a shelter of inspiration.
When an individual stands out for their exceptional contributions, which has grown to be a norm in Africa and world across, they are awarded ― Tumusiime has won several of such awards.
Notably, she scooped the Young Achievers Award for Media and Journalism in 2013, won the Silver award in the Best Mid-morning show category at the 2013 Radio and TV awards and was the Teeniez role model in Buzz Teeniez Awards in the same year.
She also stood out as the Best Dressed Female Media Personality in the 2015 Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards, Best Female Radio Personality in the 2016 Uganda Entertainment Awards 2016 among other recognitions.

Tumusiime’s father died when she was young which her mother always based on to encourage her to study harder.

She went to St Theresa Kisubi for primary school, Kitante Hill Secondary School for both Ordinary and Advanced levels. She then attended Makerere University Business School (MUBS) where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business.

In the weeks past, the couple was a Top-Talk all over social sites when Kabuura was tagged in a cheating scandal. The allegations named the NTV’s Press Box presenter in an intimate chat with another lady following leakage of screenshots of their dialogue.
Kabuura was branded as a ‘City Casanova’ by Red Pepper some years back and some people say that of him as a character. Though, what we can confirm is that he is legally married to the beautiful Flavia Tumusiime.
