Who Is Andrew Kabuura? Find Out All You Need To Know About Him.

Andrew Kabuura is a sports journalist and commentator currently hosting the show “Press Box” on NTV Uganda

A last born of four, Kabuura was born in Ntungamo district in 1987, where he went on to complete his primary school allegedly because his father wanted him to be proficient in Runyankole.

His father passed on in 1994 when Kabuura was just a toddler, hence being raised by his mother with support from his uncle.

He joined Vienna College (Naalya) for his o-level (And is probably where he learned all that french) later on joining Makerere College School for A level, attaining an impressive 19 out of 25 points. Kabuura advanced on to the Makerere University Business School where he went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

At campus, his “big break” came knocking after he wrote an article for the New Vision, as an opinion. This turned out better than his anticipation as the then sports editor for the new vision, Mr. Louis Jadwong quickly recognized Kabuura’s work as a diamond in the rough and he was therefore hired by the paper, later doubling as a sports presenter at Vision Voice(Now X FM).

” I still have those articles at home,” recounts a nostalgic Andrew Kabuura.

Kabuura’s luck was far from running out as in that same year (2009) he emerged as one of six finalists in a Dutch program for African Journalists to cover the fast coming 2010 world cup. He finished 4^th among over 200 journalists. Off then he was to soccer city to witness the first kick of the 2010 world cup.

His triumphant return got him hosting the NTV Uganda sports show “Sports Bar” later being grabbed by giant continental cable sports broadcaster, Supersport. Though it should be noted that the then lax Kabuura almost ruined his own party by arriving for the Supersport interview and trial at Namboole wreaking of tobacco smoke(as he was a self-admitting chain-smoker) clad in jeans and a Man United jersey. For this, he was almost turned down by Supersport.

However, luck again played to his advantage and he landed the much sought-after gig although he would later lament about how straining the job was. Nevertheless, Kabuura went on to become a SuperSport commentator covering multiple sporting events around the continent wearing the famous branded “S”.

He then joined Radio city here in Uganda before being awarded his own automobiles’ show; Revved UP,  at NTV later moving on to host the ” Press Box”.

On a personal note, his favorite dish is “Luwombo” coupled with an ice-cold beer. He enjoys local Music and is surprisingly avidly interested in politics!

On 12th of January,2019, Andrew Kabuura tied the knot with NTV Uganda co-worker Flavia Tumusiime at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero in a ceremony presided over by the Deputy Arch-Bishop of Kampala at the time Zac Niringiye. This proceeded a Fancy traditional “Kuhingira” at Flavia’s ancestral home in Kiruhura district on the 17th of November, 2018.

Few days ago, Social media was awash with leaked screenshots that suggest that the renowned presenter In question has harbored an extra-marital affair, much so, with another married woman! The sports guru shocked the world when his “secret affair” with a one Twinomujuni Mercy was inconveniently made public late last week.
