I Came To Kampala For Studies And Ended Up In Music. – Jazz Mavoko.

Written by on June 16, 2021

Hailing from the Eastern region of Uganda, singer Job Ddembe Baloda alias Jazz Mavoko (Musically born), has revealed the underlying reason that introduced him to Kampala.

He revealed that “I started three years ago with SideSoft Producer. We worked on a number of songs but after realizing it wasn’t going on well, we decided to come to Kampala. I had actually come to pursue a diploma in Information Technology then I stayed back to do music.”

Speaking to Record FM on the Star Factory show with DJ Nick, Mavoko said that growing up, he was a music fanatic and most people would hail him in singing but never found his roots in music at that time. He reached the extent of trying out football but on realizing that he couldn’t see his future therein, he ran for his calling.

“In this world, it is so queer that one finds oneself and know what they can do best. I grew up liking music and wherever I went to sing, people told me of how nice I could sing. I tried football and failed,” Mavoko noted.

Ever since he started doing professional music, Mavoko has had a number of songs and also collaborations with fellow artists. Some of these are; My lover, Ninze gwe (ft Fille), Bazina batya, Possible, Akeshongolo, Ompima pima, Nkooye Okulinda and Ndeku (ft Nutty Neithan) among others.
