Nominations Now Open for the 2023 HiPipo Music Awards

The HiPipo Music Awards are back for their twelfth edition, and it’s time for music enthusiasts and fans across Africa to get involved. Nominations for the 2023 HiPipo Music Awards are officially open, marking the beginning of a vibrant celebration of musical excellence.
Set to take place on Friday, November 17th, at Kampala Serena Hotel, this year’s awards promise to be a spectacular event. The HiPipo Music Awards have earned their reputation as a beacon in the African music industry, consistently recognizing and celebrating exceptional talents from across the continent.
Innocent Kawooya, the CEO of HiPipo, expressed his excitement, stating, “The kick-off of the 2023 HiPipo Music Awards nominations is a call to all African music aficionados. We encourage everyone to nominate their favourite tracks and artists. Eligible music includes any audio or video releases from October 5th, 2022, to October 5th, 2023.”
This year, the HiPipo Music Awards introduce up to fifteen diverse categories open for public nominations. These categories span a wide range of musical talents, from the local Ugandan music scene to the broader East African region and across the entire African continent.
Mr. Kawooya added, “In our past editions, we’ve been privileged to host some of the finest performances, and this year, we’re raising the bar even higher. The nomination phase will close on October 6th, after which the list of nominees will be unveiled to the public. This marks the start of a month-long voting period, leading to the eagerly awaited announcement of the winners on November 17th.
