The release of Primary Leaving Examinations(PLE) results last week on Friday has seen a mixture of reactions for both those that excelled and the poor performers. This time’s results had quite huge figures of failures a thing that has caused worry among the population
Former Makindye SSabagabo MP, Ssempala Kigozi Emmanuel Ssajjalyabeene has partly blamed it on parents for not helping their children during COVID-19 times. Ssempala says when the kids needed support like smart phones to study online many of them didn’t get it leading to the over 90000 failures registered.
Speaking to our reporter, Byaruhanga James Kigozi also blamed the government for being selective while allocating resources to schools across the country arguing that schools in urban centers receive more than rural ones thus creating an imbalance that builds up to the failures mainly in rural government schools.
He however advised parents to carefully investigate and understand why their children failed so that they can’t get the best way out.
