Renah Nalumansi drops new song dubbed ‘Gavumenti Yelimanya’

Written by on May 21, 2021

Popularly known as Uganda’s sweetheart birthed after self proclamation, Renah Nalumansi has released a new song called ‘Gavumenti Yelimanya’. A former Dream Galz member and Treasurer to the Uganda Musicians Association, Renah has strived to keep relevant against all odds.

As to Renah, she hopes that this song will travel all directions across the country because of its lyrical richness, of which she is optimistic that it will attract most people’s attention.

“It’s a love song about a couple that loves themselves so much in a way that they feel that the government should reward them. It is a very beautiful song because it is not my usual or everyday beat influenced by the evolution in the music industry. We decided to keep up with the trends on this,” Renah revealed to Record FM.

The title and message embedded in this song roots its life from the popular saying by one of the Ugandan herbalists that goes, ‘Gavumenti Yelimanya Kyelimpa’ loosely put as ‘the government knows what it will reward me with’. This phrase took most people’s attention especially on the internet which knowledge versatility, Renah sought to utilise.

The lyrics to this song, ‘Gavumenti Yelimanya’, were penned down by Omufirika Official which audio was produced by producer Nexo. It is one of the seven songs off her new album dubbed, ‘Survivor’ (album can only be found on online music stores).

Renah’s decision to release her album only on the online music stores follows the reasoning that most Ugandans are not yet so much into buying music. She will be releasing single by single.

The album is online but I will be releasing singles for the reason that Ugandans do not buy music. I am hopeful that the song will do very well because first of all the title is easy, the song is catchy, with a good vibe, lyrics easy to memorise and one can dance to it,” Renah further noted.

Building up ‘Survivor music album’ are songs worked on by a range of fine music producers in the country like Nexo, Emon and Dan Magic who before imprisonment, a song was done.

Renah has managed to stay relevant in the dynamic Ugandan music industry with past songs like Nakuwasa, Kyoka, Otembeya, Nyongera, Byokola, Neighbour, Kasikonda to mention but a few.
