Ministry Of Health Condemns Malicious Attacks On its Officials By Public.

Written by on July 27, 2021

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has condemned the continued malicious attacks on its officials by groups of persons who have been politically organised with intent to defame.

This comes after a demonstration by unknown persons who dropped a coffin near Mulago National Referral Hospital that had negative information of a specific attack.

The writings thereon were tarnishing the Permanent Secretary at MoH, Dr Diana Atwine accusing her of corruption and demanding her resignation from the current office she assumes in the Ministry.

By press time, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, had revealed that Police knows who the suspect is as investigations are still in motion.

The Senior Public Relations Officer at the MoH, Emmanuel Ainebyoona, has said that even with available facts and accountability, these groups are not interested in.

“Despite availability of facts and accountability, we have also noted that these groups are not interested in the available facts through known accountability channels,” Ainebyoona said.

He has therefore appealed to security and enforcement agencies to investigate the groups at the rear of this fateful campaign targeting n individuals within the Ministry.

Ainebyoona further explained that the MoH works in unison with a number of committees which aids decision making in the ministry.

These are among others; the Senior Management Committee, Top Management, Strategic Committee, Scientific Advisory Committee, the Vaccine Advisory Committee and National Taskforce.

With this in play, Ainebyoona nonetheless remarked that the Ministry will neither be derailed nor distracted but rather will remain committed to providing care and saving lives during this second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
