Written by on June 7, 2021

Popularly known for his distinctive voice, Singer John Blaq is grateful to fellow singers, Chris Evans and David Lutalo who gave him the acceptance of two great collaborations that is; Sitidde and Tokutula with both artists respectively.

He revealed this recently on 97.7 Record FM while he premiered his latest single, ‘Mbimala’ a song produced by Bomba and written by John Blaq. He said that the two songs (Tokutula and Sitidde) are doing well.

“I thank them so much for the opportunity given to me and the songs are doing pretty well. They have been there for me, trusted, loved and gave me this opportunity. It all comes from love because the two are legends in the Entertainment Industry and I have grown up listening to them. Working with them was a great privilege to me as an artist,” John Blaq appreciated fellow artists.

According to him, collaborating with musicians that sing contrarily to the genres he does, he was seeking to penetrate a newer audience that he for long agitated to conquer.

“There are some audiences glued onto us ― the youths. So, I also wanted to penetrate into the adult groups. Our parents love artists like Lutalo and Evans but I too, want to leave a legacy. I don’t want to be termed as an artist who sings for the young audience alone. I need those who haven’t understood me to also know me thus clinging to those that penetrated such an audience ago. I wanted to reach people that I all along thought I needed,” John Blaq said.

Music collaborations are one of the unsurpassed ways employed in the entertainment industry to cement relationships and bury hatchets between rivaling artists. This significantly attracts a pool of positive repercussions to it including widening an artists’ fan base.
