Bruno K, Naava Grey Feature on New Project “Aliwa”.

Working with musicians that are celebrated for their fine art is every singer’s dream. If it were a dream to work with renowned vocalist, Asha Naava Zziwa alias Naava Grey, it is no longer a dream for singer Bruno K.

The two talented vocalists have worked on a love song dubbed ‘Aliwa’ which premiers at 9pm EAT on Friday April, 16. Speaking to 97.7 Record FM, Bruno K noted that he strongly believes the song will top the musical charts this year since it is a product from the finest vocalists on the land.

“Of course I have that belief that ‘Aliwa’ is going to be a love anthem because when you team up Bruno K and Naava Grey, that’s obviously what you expect. It’s done by two amazing vocalists and lyricists though Naava is in her own league when it comes to penning down lyrics. A love anthem won’t be an overstatement to this song,” Bruno K said.

The song is produced by Pirate beats, mixed and mastered by Annel Tunes and written by Naava Grey. The two vocalists still, were like co-producers on this great (hopeful) song. Plus, the Aliwa video which is not to be realesed with the audio, will be shot by Mirage Concepts Uganda and directed by Meddie Menz come next week.

Born Bruno Kiggundu, Bruno K has always wanted to work with the ‘Nkwetaga’ singer Naava Grey since the days of yore for she is a big inspiration to him. He explains how they linked up that, “Naava and I met at my sister’s introduction ceremony, exchanged numbers and started talking. I respect her art, she is a legend and an inspiration that I have been looking out for and what she does in the R&B and Soul music world is unmatched. I talked to her about the song, liked the idea and we hit studio to work on it.”

Since Naava is the writer of the song, Bruno says that she well knows where she drew the inspiration from.

“Naava wrote the whole song though I suggested we sing about love which obviously is what people can expect when the both of us collaborate,” Bruno clarified.

Naava Grey is popularly known for her vocal sensationalism and a lyrical guru in the Uganda Music Industry.

Her songs for example Alib ‘omu, Omuloge, Kangume speak loudly in the ears of lovers. Bruno K, too, is blessed vocally with a huge female fan base and music that speaks to the soul. 

‘A love anthem for 2021’ is what Bruno K believes of this song. Well, I believe time will tell whether this statement is righteous but for clarity sake, I believe it will, based on the duo’s music background. Check it out and raise your opinion too.
