Reggae Dancehall artist Crescent Baguma alias Beenie Gunter has said that artists ought to prioritize love ahead of everything if they are to make the music industry a better place for each and every one.
Gunter said this in regard to the recent happening where sections of artists headed to Gulu to lobby money under the scapegoat of helping fellow artists.
“We need to be open, if you’re chasing for money or a specific thing, make it public and it will be understandable. But before putting money and all aspirations first, first put love because with love that’s when we start thinking about each other,” Gunter said.
The ‘Sekkle down’ singer added that it is saddening to see what’s happening in the country sometimes with people failing to connect and communicate yet all are in a space of survival and advises to share love instead.
“With love one can identify their brother given that there is a lot of confusion going on. The change we need to see is us and what needs to change is the level we care for each other,” he added.
Gunter believes that unity and humanity are necessary in the music industry. He advised artists to live a remarkable life for their children will live to embrace what they sing and how they conduct themselves.
