Details On Why UG Connect Concert Was Paused Emerge.

Written by on September 14, 2021

The National Culture Forum (NCF) chairman, Ragga Dee has clarified that the UG Connect is taking a short break for review and evaluation.

“When a school goes for a holiday, it doesn’t mean that it has stopped its services. At the end of the day we want to do something that helps every Ugandan,” Ragga Dee said.

This follows the eventual break taken on the entertainment show (UG Connect) that got many wondering what the reasons behind this action could be.

Raga Dee told Record FM that from the point of planning, six shows were to be conducted first and then a review taken to notice the black spots in sound, performance and other things before resumption.

One of the findings in the evaluation as revealed by Ragga Dee was that there needs to be a balanced scale so that every stakeholder in the art industry is involved.

Thus, he made known the fact that upon resumption of this entertainment show, several things will change but solely to see that everyone shares on the small cake.

“In the coming weeks, you will notice a number of changes. We want to give everyone a chance and also to expand our coverage on different TV stations so that it can become a discipline,” Ragga Dee added.

They also plan that on the day of the show, other stakeholders like fashionistas among others come and take part in the show to showcase their craft.

After a long while without concert performances, UG Connect was brought up as one of the strategic ideas that can propel the activities of the creative sector more so, giving artists a platform to perform for their fans. Its very first edition was on July 17, 2021.

In the previous editions, 20 artists featured on every show weekly.
