Grace Nakimera,Leila Kayondo Celebrate Sheebah’s Decade In Music.

Former Dream Gals member, Leila Kayondo has come out and given a shower of praises to the Queen Karma, Sheebah Karungi upon the persistence she has exhibited in the Uganda Entertainment Industry.

According to Kayondo, Sheebah’s long-term persistence is such an inspiration and motivation to her.

“Sheebah is a great artist. What draws me to her most is her great hustle and persistence. It’s so motivating and inspiring,” Kayondo told Record FM in an interview recently.

Sheebah recently celebrated her ten years anniversary as a soloist. She officially started off her solo career in 2010 with ‘Kunyenyeza’ a song written by Cindy. Gradually on, she took her momentum in the industry to the best female artist for about seven years now and also won the Best Female East African Artist in the 2018 AFRIMMA awards.

With more than ten years Sheebah has been in the industry, she has converged voices with a number of other musicians in and outside the country. Kayondo is one of these, with whom they worked on a song dubbed ‘Osobola’, a masterpiece released three years ago.

As well, former dancehall, now turned gospel artist, Grace Nakimera wished Sheebah all the best and prayed that God’s blessings lead her career onwards.

“Sheebah is such a great artist. I am a gospel artist now, but all in all I would say we all need God and Jesus loves her so much. May God bless her journey for sure in Jesus’s name,” Nakimera noted.

In the ten years as a solo artist, Sheebah has worked on a number of music albums (Nkwatako – 2016, Karma Queen – 2017, Samali – 2020, among others), been nominated and won in quite a lot of prestigious awards within the country and across the world, staged two successful musical concerts (Nkwatako Concert and Omwoyo Concert at Hotel Africana in 2016 and 2018 respectively), opened up a number of businesses around Kampala (The Red Bar, Red Events, a hair extension business and others).

‘Hope is the last thing we lose’ ― definitely with zero doubts. And if it was for Sheebah Karungi, the hopes she had while at the genesis of her musical career would have yielded less or no fruits if she considerably cherished the fear and other extraneous factors that were all around her.

But as she stood still and offered to lose a sweat, she now lives and walks triumphantly looking back at ten years of extreme hard work, negativity, provocations, achievements, and anything a ‘celebrity name’ could attract ― but above all, great success worth our best wishes which all has harnessed her musical name within and outside the country borders.
